Pathways of Recognition

Grafton High School is offering students an opportunity to design their course pathway concentrations. This is a great way to showcase your 4 years here and help your transcript tell your story.

The Counseling Department has created a  “Pathways of Recognition Tracker” Google Sheet to help you to track your progress. Below is a link to the form. Clicking the link will allow you to make a copy of the form to be saved to Google drive.

Early College High School: QCC

GHS is happy to be partnering with Quinsigamond Community College to offer our students the opportunity to take college level/college credit-bearing courses during their high school years. This is a wonderful way to expose students to the rigor of college-level work as well as a fiscally sound approach to earning transferrable college credit.

Please reach out to Sharon Buckley, Director of School Counseling ([email protected]) or  Principal Kevin Carney ([email protected]) if you have any questions or for more information.

In order to graduate from Grafton High School, a student must meet all credit and course requirements listed below.   Students must also successfully pass the Next Generation Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test with a minimum competency determination score of 500 (Meeting Expectations) on the English Language Arts and Math MCAS exams, or score at least a 470 (Partially Meeting Expectations) and complete additional academic assistance (Educational Proficiency Plan) to succeed in that subject area to earn a high school diploma.  Additionally, students must meet or exceed the minimum Needs Improvement score (a scaled score of 220 or higher) on the Science and Technology/Engineering MCAS Test. (Next Generation MCAS competency scoring for STE TBD).  The MCAS tests measure content knowledge and skills related to learning standards in the previously mentioned content areas.  Students who perform exceptionally well may qualify for scholarships applicable to Massachusetts state colleges and universities.

The scheduling and course selection process is done in partnership and collaboration with the student, teachers, parents and the school counselor in an effort to meet the student's high school and post-secondary goals. Regular communication with your counselor is highly recommended and encouraged.  Click on the links below to access course selection process resources.
